Black Finger

It has been raining since early this morning, what a peaceful quiet day for writing my blog. I looked at the window, where my beautifully bloomed flower stands elegantly inside , adding the nice vivid color to this dark, miserable afternoon....and I just thought about my "black finger".


What?, yes, my "black finger". For those of you who are clever, ha! you know what I mean, right? For those "regular' folks, let me explain. I love flowers and I love to plant them, hopefully to watch them "grow", but I have this magic finger, it is Black and so powerful, that I only need to aim at a plant , I can kill it across the air, ha, right, it is true!



I love orchids, they look so unique and elegant, my lovely daughter and my brothers, who have bought me orchids so many times in the past (yes, in the past, not anymore) and I killed them ALL, not only that I killed them, but none of them lasted for more than 5 days in my home. The first two days, they looked great, the 3rd day, the flowers closed, looked like it covered up its face, not wanting to see anyone, then the 4th day, flowers started to drop, and drop...by the 5th day, all I got was these big green leaves. This cycle consistently happened with every type of orchids that I got.


I even bought huge books trying to learn how to grew them and I got a humidity meter to check if my home has enough humidity. At onetime, I cared for them so much that, in winter time, I carried them to bedroom at night and moved them to living room during the day to keep them warm and put them in bath room in evening to let them get moisture, but Nothing Worked ! I must killed closed to 50 plants, if not more. My daughter has made her important life decision few years ago, that she would never ever bought me anymore orchids (I guess in the rest of my life....)


But, ha, there is HOPE! 2 years ago, I got a little sprout of a flower plant from a flower show, it is one type of orchids, when I got it ,it was only 2 inches tall, the lady there told me it will take 2 years to grow flowers.....I said, hmn??? 2 years.... will it survive with my Black finger?? I took it home, hesitated to plant it, but I did (thank God) . Last year, one morning, surprisingly I found flower buds, and it did bloom!!

It gets bigger and prettier.... Hee hee, Ha Ha....

I think my finger has changed to ???? Grey! isn't that nice??
